LIFE ON THE ISLAND CAN BE HARD.

My 17-year-old brother recently committed suicide. He was struggling. I wish he would have known about this hotline and called and talked to someone.

If you are feeling depressed, hopeless or suicidal, please call! We want you to know there is hope. There is help. And there is always someone to talk to.

HIT ME UP SAMOA IS A SUICIDE AND MENTAL HEALTH HOTLINE AWARENESS CAMPAIGN FOR THE ISLAND OF AMERICAN SAMOA.

The Samoan Government recently established a suicide hotline that is staffed 24/7, but they need help letting people on the island, especially teenagers, know that it exists, the hours of operation, when to call and that it is anonymous.

We will provide every high school and college kid on the island a bag that will contain a silicone bracelet and sticker with the hotline number on it and a card that will introduce them to the hotline and explain how it works. We will distribute 8000 bags before school gets out for the summer on June 4, 2021. We plan to work with business on the island to display flyers with the hotline number in their windows and owners of island buses to display decals with the hotline number on the back. Should funds allow, we would like to purchase billboard space on the island to announce the hotline number.

Our family is currently reeling from the suicide of a 17-year-old relative in Mesepa . Our mission is to prevent further suicides on the island. We hope that no other family has to experience this kind of pain and loss again.

IN ORDER TO HELP PREVENT SUICIDE ON AMERICAN SAMOA, WE NEED YOUR FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE!
